Qualifications & Experience

For External Applicants:

  • Education:

    • Pass six subjects in a single sitting at the G.C.E. (O/L) exam, including four credits in:

      • Sinhala/Tamil

      • Mathematics

    • Pass three subjects at the G.C.E. (A/L) exam (excluding General Paper).

For Internal Applicants:

  • Eligibility: Permanent employees in PL-3, PL-2, or PL-1 classes with at least 5 years of satisfactory service.

  • Education: Same O/L requirements as external applicants.


Salary & Benefits

  • Salary Scale: Rs. 46,220 – 84,350 (MA-1-2)

  • Starting Salary: Rs. 40,403/- (as per Management Services Circular No. 01/2025)

  • Other Benefits: Approved government allowances

Key Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Mass Communication from a recognized university.

Age:

Qualifications:

  • External Candidates (1 or 2 or 3 below):

    1. A degree in Information or Communication Science which is recognized by the University Grants Commission.

    2. A diploma of not less than three years or an equivalent qualification in Information/Computer Science, issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

    3. A certificate of proficiency of not less than one year in Information/Computer Science, issued by a Technical/Vocational Training Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission. And at least five (05) years post-qualifying experience in the relevant field.

Management Trainee Program at People's Bank

Eligibility and Requirements

To be considered for this program, you must be a Sri Lankan citizen and meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Be 28 years old or younger as of the application closing date (September 8, 2025).

  • Professional Qualification:

    • Possess full qualification as a finalist from one of these professional bodies:

      • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICA-SL)

      • The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK)

      • The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK (CIMA-UK)

    • OR hold a minimum Level II qualification in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

About the Program

This is a two-year, fixed-term training contract. Selected candidates will receive a monthly allowance of Rs. 100,000 and will be placed in specialized areas such as Risk Management, Audit, Finance, Compliance, or Business Revival.

During this time, you'll receive hands-on training and your performance will be evaluated annually. Upon satisfactory completion of the two-year training, you may be absorbed into the permanent cadre as an Assistant Manager (Grade 3-III), based on your performance and at the discretion of the bank's management.
